MINISTRIES

Christian Education

To help develop, train, and prepare all believers for service in God’s Kingdom based on Ephesians 4:11-12.  This ministry’s focus is creating opportunities for believers to grow in Biblical knowledge and faith in God through the study of His Word.  This ministry works to involve believers as servants to the work of God’s Kingdom through identification, development and expression of their spiritual gifts in the form of ministry.  The Christian Education Department serves as a resource umbrella for all teaching ministries throughout the church.

Evangelism

To teach all believers to intentionally and passionately take the Gospel to all people through personal witness, community outreach, and world mission opportunities.

Family Care

To address the spiritual decay in our society and community by building stronger marriages, families, and individuals on the solid foundation of God’s Word.  Our three-fold goal is as follows:

  1. Equip couples with tools for sustaining and growing marriages.

  2. Train parents on how to provide moral and spiritual guidance for their children and grandchildren.

  3. Assist fellowship teams in serving as centers for building healthy individuals, marriages and families throughout the First Baptist congregation.

Trustees

First Baptist Congregational Church (FBCC) Trustee Ministry has the tremendous task of preserving the historic and architectural integrity of our church. While incorporating the latest in technology and energy efficiency, they provide oversight and responsibility for maintenance of all the church campus buildings, grounds, parking lots, equipment, building systems, as well as general security. They ensure the facilities are fully operational, safe, clean, neat, and prepared for services and ministry activities. Trustees also act as the church representative with outside contractors, vendors and inspectors coming onto the property or into the building.

Deacons

The First Baptist Congregational Church Deacons Ministry is one of ministry, and service to Jesus Christ through His church, and it serves in the capacity of stewardship as reflected in the New Testament.

The Deacons Ministry works closely with the Pastor as an extra layer of service to those who are spiritually and physically in need.  These services are accomplished through engaging in individual and corporate prayers for the Pastor and congregation, and in providing special care or resources to those who are in need.

The First Baptist Congregational Church Deacons Ministry works closely with several outreach and evangelism ministries, which includes Men’s Ministry, Homeless Ministry and Team’s Ministry.

Deaconess

In alignment with Romans 16:1-2, and in accordance with our commitment in service unto the Lord and His people, the Deaconess Ministry of First Baptist Congregational Church actively provides support through spiritual care and works of mercy.

The Deaconess Ministry supports the Pastor and congregation, women, youth, seniors, and the community through various outreach programs and evangelism efforts. These programs and efforts include supporting Health and Wellness, Back to School Initiatives, Seniors Well-being Initiatives, Community Feeding Initiatives, and Communal Prayer.

The First Baptist Congregational Church Deaconess Ministry is intentional in our efforts of caring for the spiritual and physical well-being of mankind through acts of love, and prayer.

The choir is also heavily involved in times of special emphasis, such as the annual presentation of Dubois Seven Last words of Christ on Good Friday, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th Patriotic, Thanksgiving and the annual presentation of Handel’s “Messiah” on the 2nd Sunday in December, during Advent. Choir members are also given instruction in proper singing mechanics and techniques. As Christ gave His all for us, we desire to “Give excellence service for an excellent Savior.”

This group focuses more on the contemporary style of music and leading the congregation worship and praise in culmination of the sermon. This group desires to lead in the true spirit filled worship experience. The Praise Team meets on the two Saturdays leading up to the 2nd Sunday.

The Voices of FBCC

The “Voice of FBCC” uses the gift of music to share the good news of Jesus Christ. They minister to the congregation on Third Sunday’s using different styles of gospel music. This ensemble places an emphasis on the Word of God and conveying love through a ministerial message of praise.

The Voices of FBCC seek to do this by simply giving their gifts back to the Creator through song.

The rehearsal take place on the two Saturdays, leading up to the 3rd Sunday.

Primary & Junior Choir

First Baptist Congregational Church believes in getting children involved in music early in their lives. Many truths and Bible stories can be learned at an early age, which will stick with them all their lives.

No Scheduled Rehearsal

Solo Ministry

Each 4th & 5th Sunday our morning worship service includes special music, which rotates on a roster of soloists, and instrumentalists in our church and guests.

FBCC is blessed with many musically talented and gifted individuals. This ministry allows individuals to express themselves through testimony and singing or playing.

Soloists may also arrange for others to sing with them, by forming a group, i.e., duet, trio, quartet, or ensemble. This ministry is a vital part of our church's overall music ministry.

Rehearsals are by special arrangements with the Minister of Music.

Worship Arts Ministry

Through the Holy Spirit, the Worship Arts Ministry (WAM) mission is to spiritually grow and contribute to the Body of Christ through prayer, praise, worship, and service.  WAM seeks to bring people together through the ministry of dance, mime, and the spoken word.

The ministry ages range from 5 to seasoned adults.  WAM meets on Saturdays from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.
